At noon, Robin Nesbitt from the Columbus Metropolitan Library will answer all of your questions about starting or enhancing a book club. Reel Teens Book Trailer Contest Teens in grades 7 through 12 have the entire summer to write and film their own trailer for a favorite book. Contestants may use live action, animation, puppetry or any other form of film making. Individual and group entries are due by close of business on Monday, Aug. 18. Entries need to be suitable for a PG audience. Video files must be smaller than 20GB in size, no more than four minutes in length and in a file format that is supported by YouTube. Entries may be posted on a YouTube account and e-mailed to joshua.myers@kanawhalibrary.org or submitted by bringing a non-returnable DVD to any KCPL location. A signed release form must also be submitted. Entries will be posted on the KCPL YouTube channel, and links will be posted daily on the library’s Facebook page for voting, from Monday, Aug. 25, through close of business on Monday, Sept. 8. Likes and Thumbs-Ups on Facebook and YouTube will be counted as votes. Winners will be announced on Friday, Sept. 12. Each entry receives a prize and cash awards will go to the top three vote getters. First place will receive $100, second place will receive $50 and third place will receive $25.
